Nollywood actress Annie Idibia is praising her second daughter with husband 2Baba, Olivia Idibia, for her charitable act. When Olivia turned 11 last month, her parents asked her how she wanted to celebrate her birthday. To their surprise, she expressed a desire to spend the day with underprivileged children. Annie shared that this heartfelt request brought her to tears and made her realize that her daughter was thinking beyond her years.
The proud parents made Olivia's wish come true by spending the day with 300 kids in Ogbombo. Annie wrote, “It was our Superstar’s birthday; she just turned 11. When Daddy and I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday, she could have chosen anything, but my baby asked for the opportunity to celebrate with children who aren’t privileged!
I asked her, ‘Livy, are you sure this is what you really want for your birthday?’ She replied, ‘Yes, Mama. I wanted to do it last year for my 10th. Remember I mentioned it last year?’ I knew she had mentioned it, but I didn’t take it seriously since we didn’t have a party for her 10th.
I won't lie; it made me so emotional, and it struck me again that my child was not only thinking beyond her age (we always knew that), but her heart was in the right place. The sincerity in her eyes was so touching. This is what my daughter wanted for her birthday! It filled me with pride.
She also said, ‘And Mama, remember you used to do this during our birthdays too? It was always really nice, but I want an actual party, you know—everything, music, DJ, games, etc.’ I just looked at her face as she spoke with so much excitement!”
