Nollywood actor Yul Edochie is celebrating his legendary father, Pete Edochie, as he turns 78 today. 

Taking to Instagram, the controversial actor praised his father, referring to him as one of Nigeria’s greatest icons and the biggest name in Nollywood. Yul described Pete as a great man, a legend, a good person, and a wonderful father.  

He wished his father many more beautiful and blessed years ahead and prayed that God would always guide him. Yul also expressed his deep love for his father, declaring him the man of his life.

Last year, on Pete Edochie’s 77th birthday, Yul celebrated his father by referring to him as the "Lion of Africa" and noting that he is the most handsome 77-year-old he knows. Yul called him the greatest, shared his heartfelt wishes for him, and prayed for God to guide him always.

Despite the scandal involving his colleague, Judy Austin, which nearly strained his family relationships, it’s clear that Yul holds his father in high esteem, as he consistently praises him. When Yul began his ministerial work last year, he expressed gratitude to Pete for endorsing, supporting, and praying for him.

Additionally, when Pete Edochie received two honorary doctorate degrees from Togo University, Yul hailed him again, referring to him as the "Lion of Africa" and emphasizing that his father truly deserves the recognition and awards.

In other news, Yul revealed one of the most significant lessons he learned from Pete Edochie that has influenced his career. He recounted how, after directing his father in a movie for the first time—one he felt wasn’t his best—he received invaluable advice from Pete. When he had the chance to direct his father again, Yul impressed him with his artistic skills, ultimately earning his father's accolades.
