Victor Boniface, a striker for Bayer Leverkusen and a member of the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles, spent much of his early life with his maternal grandparents in Akure, located in Southwest Nigeria. He has provided a poignant reflection on his relationship with his late father, Mr. Okoh Boniface.
Having lost both parents—his mother at a young age—Boniface became an orphan and was subsequently raised in a military barrack in Akure, Ondo State. He remarked, "My father is from Jos, and my mother is from Edo State. I grew up with my mother's family prior to moving to Europe."
Since his Bundesliga debut as a starter during the previous season, Boniface has emerged as a notable player for Bayer Leverkusen. His contributions were pivotal in securing the Bundesliga title with five games remaining, and he concluded his inaugural season as the team’s leading scorer, with a total of 14 goals.
Boniface made his debut for the Nigeria senior team in September 2023, entering the match as a substitute for Taiwo Awoniyi in the 64th minute and subsequently assisting Samuel Chukwueze. As of now, he has participated in nine matches for the Super Eagles but has yet to register a goal.
